Programs

The Montessori classroom unifies the social, physical, and academic aspects for children. In the early years of Montessori education, children develop a strong foundation that includes liking school, feeling secure and organized, taking pride in their surroundings, being curious and focused, showing initiative and perseverance, making choices, being disciplined, and being responsible towards others in their class, school, and community.

Casa de los niños - Children´s House

The Montessori Method was created by Dr. Maria Montessori. "Children's House" is the first Montessori school for children ages 3 to 6, founded in Rome in 1907. Maria Montessori named the school “La casa dei bambini”, meaning Children's house or Casa de los Niños. She emphasized designing the learning environment for children's needs, not adults', a legacy we maintain.

At Kukumi Montessori en Español, we believe in providing a flowing educational experience for children. We recognize that every experience contributes to a child's self-construction. In our classroom for children aged 3-6, we offer a variety of self-correcting materials on open shelves, allowing them to choose what they want to work with. Through repeated engagement with these materials, children develop their talents while gaining knowledge. Working with these materials captures their interest and attention, leading to self-discipline, orderliness, and focus.

Multicultural activities expose the child to basics in geography, history, and environmental sciences. Music appreciation, art, holistic approach and movement education are part of the multicultural curriculum.

Taller 1

Taller 1 in the Montessori educational approach is tailored for 6-9-year-olds, bridging the foundational "Casa de los ninos" (3-6 years) stage to more advanced learning. Notable features include mixed-age grouping fostering cooperation, self-directed learning where children choose activities, and an integrated curriculum covering mathematics, language, science, history, geography, and cultural studies. Cosmic education encourages a global perspective, complemented by hands-on learning with Montessori materials. Individualized progress is prioritized, and social and emotional skills are developed alongside academic learning. Outdoor education and nature exploration are integrated, and assessments focus on observations and portfolios rather than traditional grades or standardized tests. In essence, Taller 1 aims to create a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment, fostering a love for learning in children aged 6-9.
